human after all

the moment when we finally sit back and relinquish ourselves to the light of oblivion that we see through squinted eyes, we realize that we’re all mortal.  no more pretending that magic will save us, no more wishes fulfilled.  there is no genie in a bottle, there is only that magic potion called free will.  the quandary arises when we’re brave enough to see that there’s nothing that will save us.  it’s up to you and me.

how do we fill our vacant lies when there’s no one around to hear a tree fall or catch our eternal cries?

what do you do when the moment fades?

the temporality is nice but it must always rearrange.

with lives that thrive so much on an escape, the courage lies in those who have planted stakes.

shut it out, shut it off, go to sleep, go abroad.

but what about those who stay?

how do we confront what we cannot erase?

how do we embrace our flaws?

perhaps true beauty is found only in what is lost.
